Compatibility

Ships with an Egyptian-style bowl. We recommend heavy-duty foil; most HMDs sit loosely on handmade bowls. Standard Egyptian hose port works with common KM-style hoses and grommets.

Setup & tips

• Water level: 2–3 cm above the downstem for a smooth, open pull.
• Bowl & foil: Tight, heavy-duty foil on the Egyptian bowl for consistent heat.
• Coals: Start with 2–3 natural cube coals; move in/out to fine-tune flavour and temperature.
• Purge: Short exhales clear the base quickly between draws.
• Hose care: Leather-style hoses aren’t washable; silicone hoses can be rinsed and air-dried.

Performance

Wide-gauge stem and classic Egyptian chamber geometry produce dense clouds with minimal restriction. Heat builds steadily on foil, and the one-ball purge clears the base fast.

Maintenance & care

• Rinse the base after sessions; use the included brush for the stem and base.
• Dry all parts before storage to protect grommets and metalwork.
• Avoid abrasives/harsh chemicals on the gold finish; wipe with a soft cloth.

Troubleshooting

• Harsh sessions: Reduce heat; move coals to the rim; open the purge briefly.
• Tight draw: Lower water level slightly; check hose/bowl grommet seals; make sure foil holes are open.
• Water in hose: Lower the water level and keep the hose above base height.
