Compatibility
- Bowl: standard Egyptian clay (foil use). Not recommended with Kaloud-style HMDs due to shallow depth.
- Hose: accepts standard KM-style hoses; includes approx. 1.3–1.5 m hose/mouthpiece (grommet included).
- Charcoal: best with 26 mm coconut cubes on foil — see our charcoal.
Setup & tips
- Run heavy-duty foil on the included Egyptian clay bowl (skip HMDs on this bowl).
- Pack fluffy for blonde-leaf; slightly denser for dark-leaf. Start with 2–3 × 26 mm coconut cubes.
- Fill the base so water sits 2–3 cm above the downstem; add crushed ice to the bucket (don’t overfill) and empty/dry after the session.
- Use extra-thick foil for steadier heat and fewer hot spots — browse foil.
Performance
Expect that signature KM openness — a classic Egyptian pull with easy airflow and a satisfying purge. The ice bucket takes the edge off heat, helping flavour stay composed as the session progresses.
Maintenance & care
- Rinse the stem interior with warm water and the included brushes; dry thoroughly after each session.
- Hand-wash the base; avoid abrasives on the gold-tone exterior and tray.
- Empty and dry the ice bucket after use to prevent spotting.
