How to dial it in

• Water line: 15–20 mm above the down-stem bell for an open, quiet draw.
• Foil packs: even pack to the rim, tight foil, two 26 mm cubes; add a third after 5–7 min if needed.
• Purge: a slow, steady exhale fully clears; half-purge to refresh mid-round.

Care & upkeep

• Rinse stem and base warm with mild detergent; soft nylon brush for the down-stem.
• Avoid abrasives or strong alkalis on plated parts and painted base; dry thoroughly after cleaning.

Quick fixes

• Harsh start: lift HMD lid 10–15 s or edge a coal; for foil, ease the pack.
• Thin clouds: ensure coals are fully lit; add a third cube; check seals and water level.
• Air leak: refresh bowl/base grommets and re-seat the stem and hose.
