Our Melbourne store team rates it as the bowl to reach for when flavour clarity is the whole point of the session, and it's the one we recommend to customers who keep saying "I want to actually taste the shisha." Patented chamber design, all-black finish, optimised for the Lotus III.

Kaloud Samsaris Lapis II — High-Grade Ceramic Phunnel for Flavour Purists
Why This Bowl, Specifically
- Precision-engineered high-grade ceramic core distributes heat more gently than aluminium — no burnt edges, no harsh notes, just pure flavour delivery session after session.
- Kaloud's patented individual flavour chambers (patented in the USA, EU, China, and Hong Kong) heat the shisha evenly across the bowl while a central air channel keeps juices recirculating inside the chambers rather than dripping down your stem.
- Gentle heat profile preserves delicate flavours that more aggressive bowl materials can overpower — the difference is most obvious on premium and light-leaf shisha where flavour clarity matters most.
- ~15–20 g capacity stretches sessions to 75–100 minutes thanks to ceramic's superior heat retention compared to glass or aluminium with the same load.
- Matte black silicone housing with black ceramic — the all-black finish complements any pipe setup, and the food-grade silicone insulates your hands and acts as an integrated grommet for most stems.
- The silicone housing never touches the Lotus — the design leaves a deliberate gap between housing and HMD, which improves heat flow and keeps flavour clean.
Fit & Compatibility
Manufactured for the Kaloud Lotus III for the tightest fit, and fully compatible with the Lotus I+3, Lotus I+, Lotus II, and most third-party HMDs. The integrated silicone grommet seats on most standard hookah stems straight out of the box. Bring your stem into our Melbourne store if you want to test the seat in person before buying.
Packing & Use
- Pack 15–20 g of shisha loosely up to the top of the centre spire — Lapis II rewards a slightly looser pack than the Kore range.
- Don't overpack. Restricted airflow on a phunnel will scorch the underside of your HMD.
- Seat your Kaloud Lotus or preferred HMD directly on top — the silicone housing and HMD never touch directly, by design.
- Add 2–3 lit natural coconut charcoal cubes (25 mm recommended) inside the HMD chamber and let the session warm up for 2–3 minutes.
Care
- Let the bowl cool fully before cleaning — thermal shock is the main cause of ceramic bowl failure.
- Rinse the ceramic core under warm water. Ceramic doesn't need seasoning and doesn't ghost, so cleaning stays simple.
- Wipe the matte silicone housing with a damp cloth — avoid harsh detergents that can dull the finish.
- Soft brush for stubborn residue inside the chambers. No abrasive tools.

Common Questions
Lapis II or Vitria III — which should I choose?
Lapis II prioritises flavour clarity and gentler heat retention — best when taste is the whole point and you're running premium shisha. Vitria III leans more towards balanced cloud production with the cleanest possible flavour signature from glass. Both are top-tier — they're different characters.
Lapis II or Kore All Ceramic?
Lapis II uses the patented flavour chamber design and pairs specifically with the Lotus III for the tightest fit. Kore All Ceramic is the simpler ceramic phunnel without chambers, more universally seated. Lapis II is the premium flavour pick.
