Fit and Compatibility

The Kore Dào Tall fits most standard shisha pipes thanks to its integrated silicone grommet — no adapters, no aftermarket grommets, no guesswork. It’s fully compatible with every Kaloud Lotus heat management device: the Lotus I+3, the Lotus I+, the Lotus II, and the Lotus III. It also works with most third-party HMDs that share standard bowl dimensions.

How to Use It

• Select your bowl size based on session length — 15g for a focused 45–60 minute session, 30g for a fuller 60–90 minute session.
• Pack shisha evenly to just below the rim, level with the top of the centre spire. Avoid overpacking — it restricts airflow and can scorch the underside of your HMD.
• Place your Kaloud Lotus or preferred HMD directly on top of the bowl.
• Add 2–3 natural coconut charcoal cubes (25 mm recommended) inside the HMD.
• Allow 3–5 minutes for the bowl to reach temperature before your first draw.
• Adjust the HMD lid position throughout the session to control heat and airflow. The black clay holds heat steadily, so you can make fewer adjustments than with red clay.

Care and Maintenance

• Allow the bowl to cool completely before handling or cleaning.
• Rinse with water only — never use soap, detergents, or abrasive materials. These can penetrate the porous clay and taint future sessions.
• Use a soft brush to gently remove any residue if needed.
• Air dry the bowl fully before storing or reusing. Trapped moisture affects heat behaviour and can cause uneven sessions.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Slight surface moisture after use is a normal characteristic of porous black clay. This contributes to flavour development as the bowl seasons over time.

Both share the same ~91 mm top diameter and identical black clay heat profile. The 30g bowl is deeper, holding more tobacco for extended sessions of 60–90 minutes. The 15g suits shorter, more focused sessions of 45–60 minutes. Your HMD sits the same way on both — choose based on how long you like to smoke.

How does the Dào black clay compare to the Qì red clay?

The Dào black clay holds heat more steadily and releases it more gradually, producing a controlled, neutral flavour profile ideal for slow-burn sessions. The Qì red clay is more reactive and energetic, responding quickly to heat adjustments for a livelier session. Both are part of Kaloud’s Clay and Ceramic Collection and share the same Kore body design.

Do I need a separate grommet for this bowl?
