The Khalil Mamoon Red Sherif Two Level (Model 1044) is one of the more distinctive KMs we keep on our Melbourne store floor - an 80 cm two-level stem with a red finish and the classic KM traditional draw. It's the pipe customers pick when they want a genuine Egyptian build that doesn't look like every other KM on the shelf.

How to set it up
- Seat the stem in the hand-painted base with the supplied grommet.
- Fill the base with cold water to about two fingers above the downstem.
- Pack the KM clay bowl, foil and add coals from the tray.
- Draw steadily - traditional KMs prefer a slow, measured pull.
Care & maintenance
- Rinse the stem with warm water and a soft bottle brush after every session.
- Hand-wash the base only - no dishwasher on hand-painted glass.
- Wipe the red finish clean with a soft cloth; avoid abrasives.

Is the red finish durable?
The KM lacquer holds up well with normal care. Wipe clean with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive pads.
How does the two-level stem affect the draw?
It lengthens the internal smoke path, giving a slightly smoother pull than a single-level KM of the same height.
Is it a good pipe to start a KM collection with?
