Setting it up

• Fill the base so the downstem sits 15–20 mm under the waterline
• Attach the stem to the grommet and verify the hub seal
• Pack the clay bowl loosely to 2–3 mm below the rim
• Foil, even hole spread, 2–3 lit coconut coals on top
• Draw gently and purge between rotations

Caring for the engraved finish

• Wipe the stem dry after each session — keep water out of the engraving channels
• Avoid abrasive scrubbers entirely — they dull the gold detail
• Flush the downstem with warm water
• Soft brush and warm water for the glass base
• Replace the non-washable hose when ghosting appears
