• Stops wind from killing your coals — the steel mesh blocks gusts that would otherwise cool the cherry on a balcony or backyard session.

How to use it

• Set up your bowl, foil and coals (or HMD) exactly as you normally would.
• Lower the D-Fender 2.0 over the top of the bowl and coal stack.
• Smoke the session as normal — the mesh handles the wind for you.
• Lift the cover with tongs while it's still hot if you need to rotate or adjust coals.

Care & cleaning

• Always let the D-Fender cool fully before touching it with bare hands.
• Rinse with warm water and a soft brush to clear ash and residue from the mesh.
• Mild dish soap is fine for stubborn build-up — avoid harsh abrasives that could strip the powder coat.
• Dry completely before storing to prevent any spotting on the steel.

Common questions

Will it fit over my HMD?

In nearly every case, yes — it's sized for standard bowls and the most common heat management devices. If you smoke a particularly oversized HMD, drop into the Melbourne store and we'll happily test fit before you buy.

Does it affect heat management?

Slightly. Because it traps a small amount of heat around the bowl, you may find you need one fewer coal than usual on a windy day. Adjust to taste.
